Upcycled double bedspread, large throw, made from recycled wool knitwear using the rail fence patchwork design in shades of brown, duck egg blue and orange.
Locally sourced, preloved jumpers have been lovingly chosen for their colour and texture before being washed, cut up and sewn using an overlocker with seams showing for added texture and interest. These are handmade by The Woolly Pedlar up in her woolly garret at home in rural Northumberland, UK
Upcycling is a fantastic way of taking waste, in this case, recycled knitwear, and using design to create a new item. So much of our textile waste ends up in landfull, or is shipped abroad, where local textile industries are being priced out of the market. By using what we have and upcycling it we are helping to keep textiles in our economy, and are also helping the planet by reducing the drain on our precious resources.
All items are one off pieces. Do get in touch if you’d like a bespoke throw or bedspread making. Bspoke orders a pleasure!
Larger throws and bedspreads can be found in the Soft Furnishings section.
Made from recycled wool knitwear, so handwash or wash on wool cycle.
